Welcome to Mountain Plains!
Every child deserves a safe, caring place to live
and such a place is vital for children and youth in care.
Mountain Plains strive to recruit and support families who
desire to open their home to children and youth. Our
foster care program encourages healthy growth and development by
providing a stable and nurturing alternative family environment.
We serve children and youth 0 - 17.
Typically these are individuals who are experiencing a variety
of social, emotional, and behavioural difficulties because of
abuse and neglect. These are children and youth who need
professional support and can benefit in a home outside their
family.
Our foster parents are both teachers and
caregivers. With the support provided by Mountain Plains,
our families are able to assist the children:
- Develop positive relationships with
others.
- Experience success in schools.
- Address / handle their feelings
appropriately.
Every foster parent is different, but they all
have at least 3 things in common; they are caring, willing to
help and have a desire to make positive impacts in the life of a
child or youth.
