Family Service Society of Edmonton

Mountain Plains Family Service Society of Edmonton is a non-profit agency governed by a Board of Directors. We have been working in Edmonton and surrounding area since 1991.

Mountain Plains assists fostering caregivers to create meaningful, positive connections for children and youth with family reunification, permanence, and community connection as the goal. Our families ensure that vulnerable children receive the care and support they need to heal and thrive.

Vision

Children and youth are supported in a secure and caring environment where their strengths are recognized and nurtured to develop competencies that promote a positive family and community life.

  • We have a responsibility for fostering the physical, emotional, intellectual, spiritual and cultural development of children and youth.
  • We strive to develop and deliver culturally relevant programs as well as services to support Indigenous children, youth and families.
  • We have a responsibility to support caregivers, and ensure caregivers abide by Agency practices and beliefs.
